Dr. Lily Hipp

Dr. Lily Hipp is a board–certified and glaucoma fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex eye conditions, both medical and surgical. Born as the eldest of seven children, Dr. Hipp left her rambunctious home in Savannah to pursue her undergraduate studies at University of Georgia as a National Merit Scholar, in the Honors program. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and graduated summa cum laude with Highest Honors. She then obtained her medical degree at Medical College of Georgia where she fully committed in her passion for ophthalmology.

After graduation and a year of transitional medicine at St. Luke’s Presbyterian University in Denver, Colorado, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During this time, she was elected chief resident whose responsibility was to help junior residents improve and perfect surgical techniques.

Following residency training, Dr. Hipp completed a glaucoma fellowship at the nationally-recognized Baylor University in Houston, Texas, where she specialized in glaucoma management and surgery as well as managed cataracts and other more complex eye conditions.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Glaucoma Society, and Women in Ophthalmology. Dr. Hipp is passionate about patient education and believes that the more the patient understands about their own eyes, the better. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, pottery, and trying new coffee and tea shops. She especially cherishes time with her family, her husband, and her three cats.
